Research: My research revolves around the interplay between genetic and epigenetic factors in regulating epidermal development and skin tumorigenesis. The human hairless gene was originally characterized by the Christiano team to be a key regulator of epidermal homeostasis and hair follicle cycling. My current research employs different hairless transgenic mouse models to further elucidate the molecular function and mechanisms of action through which hairless imparts its master regulator activity in epidermal homeostasis.
