Research: Dr. Petukhova is a genetic epidemiologist in the Departments of Dermatology and Epidemiology. She received academic training at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and holds degrees in Biostatistics and Epidemiology. She began working on the genetics of alopecia areata as a graduate student and over the past 10 years has authored or co-authored 12 manuscripts reporting the identification of new genes and/or genetic mechanisms relevant to alopecia areata.
