Our aim is to identify relevant antigens in the development of Alopecia Areata in human and the mouse model of AA. We are combining a direct approach via the screening of peptides derived from hair follicle cells, and an indirect approach via single cell TCR chains sequencing of CD8+ T cells from the lesional skin. Moreover, we are currently testing immunotherapies that aim to reestablish tolerance of pathogenic T cells to AA antigens.
